This post is about the loveliest people behind the huge project called The Greg Finck Workshops led by Greg Finck. Greg did a amazing job and put together amazing group of people. They are all not only crazy talented and successful, but also endlessly humble, nice and such a sweet people. Every single breakfast, lunch, dinner, conversation was like dream for me. It really was, because these guys follow them on social media all these years and suddenly they are sitting next to you and talking to you. Sometimes it felt like "Is this real or I am dreaming"? They all put so much effort enthusiasm, knowledge into their work, that I was totally speechless every single time I saw the results. After every class when we went out and we saw the styling the guys have already prepared I was like : "WOW, I have never seen something beautiful like this!" After few minutes when your is breath has come back you started capturing this BEAUTY.
We have always appreciated vendors' work, that we felt we had to do something for them. Not just some random snapshot, but something valuable, meaningful for them. That's why we decided to write this blog post to be able to say THANK YOU to all amazing vendors that we have met at Light workshop but also to the other ones we had a chance to work with in the past. The whole credit for this idea is going to my amazing beautiful, intelligent and very creative woman - my beloved wife VERONIKA. It was a shame that she couldn't come with me to the workshop, because you would be in love with her from the very first moment.
Thank you very much for the "once in lifetime" opportunity to capture this beauty. Love you guys! The Lightworkshop started with this incredible setting. Welcome dinner at the Greg Finck workshops.
The first styled shoot was in charge of these beautiful ladies from Lavender & Rose. Jennifer and Kerry are wedding planners specializing only in destination weddings throughout Southern France. They are extremely likable girls. They bring so much positive energy in every place, every room they step in. Their lesson about communication between wedding photographer and coordinator / wedding planner was really funny because of their personalities. I am very happy that I could have met them in person. Hopefully not the last time girls ;)
The second styled shoot led by Nessa Buonomo was totally different. Nessa is the owner of the French wedding blog La Mariée aux Pieds Nus. Nessa joined with Clémentine, from Le Blog de Madame C, to create wedding agency in France Made in You. Nessa is the master in styling. She has done at around thousand styled combination of stationery set at the workshop and every single one was amazing. When I wanted to make a picture of it, Nessa always said "Not yet, not yet". Nessa, I know every detail counts! Actually, she is even the author of the text on the paper below.
The next Lady behind the third styled shoot is one of kind stylist, Sofia Ferreira from well known brand Branco Prata. She is based in Portugal. I was lucky enough to speak with her a lot during the workshop. She explained to me in detail, how the photographer has to think about the styled shoot (what is behind the styled shoot etc...). I am so grateful for her advice and help.Sofia,I am sure this wasn't the last time we have met!
This Lady is beautiful inside and out and she was responsible for all the flower designs, bouquets etc... Her name is Laetitia C. I spent a lot of time watching the vendors creating their masterpieces. But watching Laetitia doing her "job" was so pretty. Every single time she touched the flowers her touch was full of love and softness. There were hundreds of flowers around her but not a single one was on the ground. I am not sure what is she doing with the flowers after the wedding but she probably has the biggest amount of dried flowers at home in the world :). I am sure you have one extra bouquet from workshop at home ;)
These two guys were doing their own job, but when you saw them working during the getting ready stage they were one body. It was incredible!! I was lucky enough to have the room in the same house where the models were getting ready. I watched them every day before the styled shoot. Yes, it was so inspiring even for the photographer! The talented and charming make up stylist is Charles Gillman. He has such a beautiful personality and when he starts smiling his personality even grows into the beauty. His other half is very stylish hair stylist Ciara Costenoble based in Paris. Her outfits were very fashionable, I think Rime would agree with that ;). They are both big professionals. They have never been late with the models. And imagine that they had a lesson for us during getting ready stage and they did it on time. INCREDIBLE. It is so important to be on time during the wedding day and these two are always on time. Again, huge professionals. Thank you guys for inspiration!
Greg did a great job and invited also probably the most famous Photo Lab in the world, based in U.S - Richard Photo Lab. Marketing director Sofia Fox came from the L.A to Provence.
Even after that long flight Sofia was full of energy. I first met her at the train station and from this time we were neighbors during the whole workshop :) I had the room right next to her, we were sitting at welcome dinner right next to each other. Well I had great company :). Sofia did her job so well. I think Richard Photo Lab should be proud of her. She represented the Lab and her lesson was so damn good! After that workshop I personally believe that Richard Photo Lab can make you better photographer! Great job Sofia!
Next guest at Lightworkshop arrived from UK. Sara Russel told us everything about wedding blogs. She is the owner of the amazing wedding blog focused only at film photography - Wedding Sparrow. She taught us that every submission has a purpose. I think her lesson was truly important for me... She helped to understand some key points with submissions I didn't realize before...It was so nice to thank you in person for accepting the first film submission we did.Thank you Sara, it really helped us to keep doing film photography. Unfortunately Sara left on Wednesday and this is the reason why she is the only one who doesn't have photo taken by me :(. I am so sorry Sara, it's my mistake... You definitely deserved beautiful portrait!
We spent the unforgettable time in breathtaking venue Les Domaines de Patras. I think that is almost impossible to find more friendly and nicer person than Kéty. If you are planning a holiday in Provence this is the right place to be...
The only male vendor besides Greg was this always smiling man Pascal Délé. He is film maker based in France, but traveling around the world. I can't wait to see the movie from the workshop. I always used the time he took the models away and shot while he was filming.
The woman behind the scenes is Clementine. Clementine is the owner of the wedding blog Le Blog de Madame C. She organized all the work behind the scenes. Thank you for your job everything went very smoothly.
Do you know the famous wedding designer Rime Arodaky from France? That pretty woman is behind this really HUGE brand! And you know what? Probably the most humble person I've met so far. Always standing in the back... But on the other side I literally could see and feel the confidence behind this modesty.Rime, I love your personality so much. Your lesson was one of the best. I am in love with your different point of view on wedding photography. You reminded me Veronika many times during your speech. You have very similar eye for beauty...
And last but not least THE ONE: GREG FINCK. Greg Finck is in our opinion the best wedding photographer in Europe. Not one of the best, but THE BEST! When we saw the announcement about the light workshop with the line up of speakers and vendors we were so excited. Unfortunately we bought a Contax camera just two days before the announcement of the workshop. BUT, this guy waited for us. Greg, we are thankful for the rest of our life for this opportunity. It was the best decision in our photography career. I expected that your lessons would be great. But what I saw and heard was beyond our expectations. You talked about everything it so openly, transparently...We are so grateful!!! You are extremely talented and intelligent man. You've opened our eyes...It will take some time to realize and implement all the knowledge, but we are sure that you helped us A LOT in becoming better photographers in every way ...
